About Us

Brisbane Road Runners Club (formerly known as the Queensland Marathon and Road Runners Club) is a non-elitist running club that was established in 1982, and now conducts regular road runs for all grades of runners. Our events, which are conducted generally every second Sunday, are open to Club members and visitors alike.  All events are conducted on an accurately measured 5 kilometre course along Riverside Drive at West End, Brisbane.  For distances longer than 5 kilometres, multiple loops are used. We have electronic timing (shoe chips) for lap/finish times and a timing clock at the start/finish line. All runs have police permits, marshals, and two water stations on the course. A light breakfast of fresh fruit and sports drink is provided and our event day fees are $5 for members (under 18 years – $2) and $10 for non-members (under 18  years – $4). If you would like more information about individual events scheduled throughout the year, you can view these at Event Details. Our events are a great way of meeting like-minded people, swapping running experiences, and finding out about different training techniques and programs. Brisbane Road Runners Club events start and finish at the South Brisbane Sailing Club, 70 Hill End Terrace, West End – see Location Details and Map.
